Tanto short sword - a replica of the ancient samurai.
The original Tanto is a Japanese combat knife, which is slightly bent and has a cutting blade on one side. The samurai used to carry it near a long sword to use a precision weapon in close combat. For training purposes, however, it was better to use a replica made of wood at that time in order not to provoke severe injuries. Even today, Tanto Short Swords count as equipment for various martial arts, such as Aikido and is often used in self-defense training as a simulation weapon.
No bigger than a shaku.
In the past people used nature's things to measure things, so did the Japanese unit of a Shaku. The removal of two knots of a bamboo cane was called Shaku. Even today, this unit of measurement is maintained in Japan but has meanwhile been set to a length of exactly 303.03 mm. A Tanto should always have a length below this unit. At 30 cm our Japanese wooden short sword meets the traditional requirements.
