Here’s how to play it safe when transporting shinai and bokken.

You can certainly do without any trouble. According to the German Weapons Act, many sports weapons must also be transported in a closed container to keep them out of reach and out of sight. With this weapon bag, shinai and bokken are guaranteed to get from A to B safely. This sturdy bamboo sword is perfect for effective sword training. Traditionally, the shinai consists of 4 individual bamboo slats, which are held together at the top and bottom. The perfectly balanced sword promotes clean sword movements and thus enhances your ability to master various techniques. Its sturdy construction makes the shinai suitable for countless practice sessions and can also be used for your first competitive experiences. To care for your shinai, you should above all protect it from drying out, as splinters can lead to serious injuries. The dull side is marked as the non-blade side with a nylon cord and should be switched from time to time.

You can take your Kubotan with you without a tip on your keychain, even in public, without hesitation. It is currently not subject to the Weapons Act and can therefore be bought and carried completely legally in Germany. The short stick with about 14 cm usually only develops its strength together with solid foundations from martial arts or self-defense. Used correctly, attackers can be put out of action fairly quickly, as you can use your energy like an amplifier. However, it is only effective as a weapon if you can carry out targeted attacks on pain-sensitive parts of the body, which cannot work without suitable training.

A Kubotan is a handy means of self-defense and is also used in some martial arts disciplines, such as Krav Maga or Jiu Jitsu.
