What the European Union (EU) was for European integration in 1993, the AETF – the All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation – is for ITF Taekwon-Do in Europe. Representatives from Eastern and Western Europe founded the federation in Oslo, Norway, back in 1979 to unite the individual European ITF federations under one roof. The goal then, as now, is to coordinate techniques, competitions, and training according to uniform ITF standards and to raise the sport to a high level throughout Europe. For active taekwondo practitioners, the AETF creates a professional competition environment, structured courses, and skills that will take you to an international level in the sport of Taekwon-Do.
