Sticks, staff weapons

Experience a new dimension of martial arts and discover the power of staff/staff weapons.

Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker brought the staff weapons with their lightsabers onto the big canvases and thrilled the masses in the process. However, the history of the bars goes way back in history. In ancient Japan, stick weapons were part of the standard equipment of the samurai. In their typical length and shape, Jo- and Bo-sticks have survived and are used in assorted styles such as Aikido, Bo-Jutsu, or Kobudo. The Eskrima sticks, which are primarily used as a pair, look more like drumsticks. Their origins lie in Filipino martial arts such as Eskrima, Arnis, or Kali. The handy sticks are mostly made of rattan and therefore have an elevated level of resistance. In addition, the natural material is light and elastic, so that it is suitable for beginners and advanced. Find your personal favorites here in our Budoland online shop among a wide selection of staff weapons and experience martial arts in a new dimension.

Möge die Kraft mit Euch sein – Ausdauer- & Techniktraining mit Stäben und Stabwaffen.

Your close combat option with historical background: Tanto made of hardwood.

For a safe training process, we also offer many traditional weapons as wooden weapons. The risk of injury is significantly lower about a real knife and sword weapons. Nevertheless, shape and weight remain essential criteria to facilitate a later transition to the originals. The word “Tanto” comes from Japanese and means short sword. It is one of the classic melee weapons and looks back on a long tradition of the notorious samurai. Thanks to the striking blade tip, the blade length is below your Shaku (approx. 30 cm), and the short sword is very stable. Our hardwood tanto has a smooth structure and an excellent grip.

Anything but a walk - baton training with the rattan Jo-stick.

More significant than an Eskrima, the Jo-stick still falls into the short-stick category. However, with an approximate length of 127 cm, it is almost twice as long as the Filipino stick. The Jo-stick, disguised as a walking stick, served as the original farmer's weapon to defend against attacks by a warrior armed with a katana. During training, the Japanese long sword is replaced by the less dangerous wooden sword “Bokken.” Thanks to the natural strengths of the rattan, the Jo-stick is also designed for use in partner training with stick contact. Despite the high quality of our staff weapons, regular checks for possible chipping or material cracks are essential before each use.
