The German martial arts pioneer Georg F. Brückner is unhappy with every protective equipment available at those days, so with the assistance of numerous varying experts he develops his own range of guards for the hands, feet and head, made from a rubber-like material called “BayFlex®”.

1983

The innovative safety equipment, which at that time already bears the name TOP TEN, for the first time will be presented internationally at the WAKO World Championships in London. Also the World Boxing Association AIBA shows first interest in the unique protective gear.

1984

During the Olympic boxing tournament in Los Angeles the World Amateur Boxing Association “AIBA” agreed to cooperate with Georg F. Brückner (TOP TEN) and the Technical University (TU) of Berlin. From this point on Georg Brückner's in many years of experiences acquired knowledge in the material sector of glove and head guard production should be used for a worldwide universal safety program.

1985

Through the wide acceptance of athletes, coaches and associations, as well as by applying it in most major international competitions the superior properties of TOP TEN products are quickly established.

Til today more than 100 European and World Championships in Taekwon - Do, Kickboxing and Boxing as well as 3 Olympic Games have been exclusively equipped with TOP TEN safety equipment.

In these days the TOP TEN head guard made of BayFlex® is considered to be an outstanding innovation and it acts partially like a technological revolution from another planet. This first impression consolidated over time and ensures that the head protection is still one of the bestsellers in the safety sector, without any doubt worldwide.

1986

The European WAKO Championships in Athens are the last official event with using gloves and foot protection made from BayFlex®, because gloves and kicks of the new developed range Superfight 2000 made of real leather with high absorbent Bayfill paddings had already been successfully tested, and with submitting several patents TOP TEN will revolutionize the future of safety in martial arts.

1987

As part of the legendary 5th Kickboxing World Championships in Munich, the new equipment range “TOP TEN Superfight 2000” will be presented internationally with nearly unbelievable success. Contemporaneous another innovation and a new patent change the production of boxing gloves. The pre-curved one-piece Bayfill foam padding is unique and make the TOP TEN boxing glove an exceptional hand guard in comfort and safety.

1988

The amateur boxing world association decide that from now on only products tested by the AIBA is allowed to be used in international championships and tournaments. As a sign of approval after annually recurring testings the products are awarded with the “AIBA” label. Since 1985 TOP TEN products especially in the field of headgear and gloves meet and exceed this test standard continuously. The test results of the TU Berlin (Technical University) prove in all clarity, that TOP TEN continues to be the world leader in safety.

1992

On 30th of December 1992, a sad day in the history of the TOP TEN brand our "Father of Kickboxing" and founder of TOP TEN Georg F. Brückner died much too early in his hometown of Berlin at the age of 62. In the same year TOP TEN provides the boxing equipment for the Olympic Games in Barcelona.

1993

TOP TEN is the official equipment supplier of the WAKO World Championship in Atlantic City, USA.

1996

The managing director of Budoland Headquarter (Germany) Peter Kruckenhauser takes over the worldwide distribution of TOP TEN products and provides the equipment for the Olympic boxing tournament in Atlanta, USA.

ITF

In Vienna (Austria) Peter Kruckenhauser meets the representatives of the Taekwon - Do World Federation. The ITF was and til today still is enthusiastic about quality and design of the gloves and sign a contract with TOP TEN, which is still valid today.

1997

A new, global distribution network for TOP TEN is being set up and TOP TEN will once again be the official supplier at the WAKO World Championships in Dubrovnik / Croatia.

2000

The official boxing equipment of the Olympic Games in Sydney once again is TOP TEN safety gear. For the 3rd time in a row TOP TEN is the official supplier of Olympic Games. In addition, With the European WAKO Championships in Moscow TOP TEN is once again sponsor of a major event in the field of kickboxing.

2010

With the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore TOP TEN is back at Olympic competitions. In the same year, the new developed head guard “Avantgarde” is presented with resounding success. The new protection based on the proccessing of the proven BayFlex® material with a combination of modern futuristic design.

Now

TOP TEN is always working on the sustainable improvement and further development of products and so the success story continues.

Once again: To date, more than 100 European and world championships in Taekwon-Do, kickboxing and boxing, as well as 3 Olympic Games and the Youth Olympic Games have been equipped with TOP TEN safety equipment. An incredible development.
