Dobok

Blossom white uniform for your Taekwon-Do from beginners to professionals: Doboks.

Taekwon-Do knows no borders. You don’t need a lot of basic knowledge for this Korean martial art. Age and gender also play a subordinate role in Taekwon-Do. But what unites everyone on the mat is wearing the classic sports uniform, the Dobok. The suite consists of a jacket with long sleeves and loose-fitting trousers. Since Taekwon-Do focuses particularly on foot techniques, the trousers should be vast in the crotch area. This means that jumping and twisting techniques can also be carried out comfortably, and you do not run the risk of having to put up with a sudden seam bursting. The white color stands for the equality of the athletes and is only broken up by black block stripes in the higher performance levels. Colored Ty (belts) shows the status of your Taekwondoin in the 10 Kup (student grades).

Dobok, karate-Gi, or judo suit - what's the difference.

White tracksuits are worn in Taekwon-Do, Karate, and Judo. Beginners in particular often ask themselves whether it doesn't matter which uniform is worn. Maybe dad's discarded sports outfit is just the right thing for the upcoming sporty offspring? First: Good martial arts schools and clubs offer trial training. A standard sporty outfit of sports trousers and a T-shirt is usually sufficient for this. If you then decide on this martial art, investing in your uniform is essential. Not every suit is the same. In Taekwon-Do, the Dobok is longer than the Gi's in Karate. Judo suits are usually even shorter and heavier since the jacket can also be pulled here. Second-hand is good and, sustainable alternative to buying new directly. But make sure that the Dobok is intact. In particular, the crotch area of the pants is subject to high stress due to the sport-related emphasis on foot techniques. In addition, the Dobok should fit perfectly in your size and not be washed out. With your clean and impeccable appearance, you show your respect for the sport of Taekwon-Do even before you step onto the mat.
