Kung Fu & Wu Shu
Kung Fu and Wu Shu - endurance martial arts for the discerning.
The emergence of Kung Fu goes back far into history. About 1500 years ago, the Shaolin monks built gymnastic exercises and breathing techniques into their everyday lives to increase their physical fitness. Fitter and more attentive, they were not only able to follow long hours of prayer, but they also perceived their surroundings much better. In the most remote monasteries attacks, also by wild animals, were not uncommon - now one could better defend oneself. However, one has also copied a lot of animals. Their movements were studied carefully to imitate them later. Even today, for example, you can find the speed and bounce of a panther in many Kung Fu exercises. Derived from Chinese, “gongfu” means hard work - patience, perseverance, self-discipline and a strong moral are required of the athlete. Wu Shu is a Chinese martial art that originated around 1950. In addition to the various martial arts elements from Kung Fu, you will also find many acrobatic aspects and dance-like elements in Wu Shu.
