Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)
BJJ - a family business writes martial arts history.
With the Japanese martial arts of the Kodokan judo, came at the beginning of the 20th century, the brothers Carlos and Helios Gracie in contact. While Carlos was able to prevail quickly, it was difficult for the rather slender and small Helios to prevail over physically superior. Giving up was out of the question for him. So over time, he developed techniques that were neither power nor speed. Especially in ground combat the little guy saw its advantages and perfected them down to the last detail. As Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, the family made a name for themselves and developed their own lifestyle. From clothes to a diet of their own, the family company brought a lot of new things to the martial arts market. Soon there were enthusiastic fans of their own sport, which made no distinction between strong and weak, big and small. With the spread of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu beyond the clan borders, today's name BJJ - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has become established. The UFC, the US mixed-martial arts organization, organizes events and broadcasts such as the Ultimate Fight Night. BJJ stylists are strongly represented in the MMA battles and are promoted through the market leader UFC.
