Kumite

Kumite ā dynamism meets protection and freedom of movement
Kumite, the āmeeting of handsā, is controlled combat in karate. Although the techniques appear fast and powerful, they are usually stopped before reaching their target. To avoid injuries, the right protective equipment is crucial: depending on the association's rules, karateka wear groin protectors, fist and foot protectors, as well as instep and shin guards, which offer safety without restricting mobility. Equally important is the special kumite gi. Unlike the heavier kata suit, it is lighter, more form-fitting, and breathable. This allows it to adapt to dynamic movements, remain comfortable even with protective equipment, and support the speed and explosiveness that make kumite so impressive.
