Boxing Rings and Attachments
The only ring with corners - boxing rings are extraordinary.
Have you ever wondered why the obviously square boxing rings are called “rings”? We got to the bottom of this for you. Boxing was a popular sport very early on in Britain. In the 18th century, unlike today, there were no rules and no boxing ring. Instead, the onlookers put themselves in a “ring” around the athletes to follow the action. This term has established itself, so we still refer to the square sports facilities, with or without a floor, as boxing rings. In addition, the sides are secured with rubber ropes, and the corners are padded. The competition colors red and blue mark the respective corner of the ring of the opponents, while two white corners form a neutral zone.
