Founded in 1956 by Masutatsu Oyama, this special form of full-contact karate is attracting more and more athletes. In Kyokushinkai karate, you can expect numerous challenges: kihon (basic techniques), kata, kumite (sparring), and tameshiwari (breaking tests). The demands on athletes could not be more diverse. One of the best-known katas is Kanku-Dai, which symbolically begins with a glance upward toward the sky. For advanced practitioners, it combines flowing movements, strategic fighting, and precise techniques into a demanding training routine. This gi stands out with its wide cut and typically short jacket sleeves. This gives you plenty of freedom of movement, exactly what you need in KYOKUSHINKAI karate. The durable cotton fabric is tear-resistant and quilted several times at the edges. This ensures that the karate suit retains its shape and can withstand pulling or tearing. Please note: Pure cotton gis may shrink slightly when first washed. We therefore recommend washing at a low temperature and drying the suit flat to maintain its shape and fit.
